After years behind bars, rapper Max B is nearing his release. His Instagram account revealed on September 15 that he will be freed on November 9.

The post included a letter from the New Jersey State Parole Board sent in August, in which Carla M. Shabazz, Director of the Division of Release, confirmed that New York had approved his parole plan. Once released, Max B will serve five years of probation.

Max B’s legal journey has been long and complex. In 2009, he was convicted of murder and armed robbery, receiving a 75-year prison sentence. That conviction was vacated in 2016 due to an alleged conflict of interest involving a member of his legal team. He then pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years, with time served.

During his incarceration, Max B has reflected on his life and set clear goals for the future.

In a July interview on “Drink Champs,” he discussed how his time in prison has altered his perspective, including his approach to past conflicts. Addressing his longstanding feud with Jim Jones, he expressed a desire to reconcile.

“Listen, Jim said a bunch of hard s**t about me. So, we all say hard s**t about each other, okay? Jim done wished me dead, all type of s**t. It’s all good. Listen, man. It’s love, man. I want to start over. I’m a new man. I’m a married man. I got four kids,” he explained.

Max B also emphasized his focus on personal growth and financial stability.

“Like, I’m on a whole different time right now, my n***a I’m out here to get my money and ride out the sunset with this s**t,” he added. “It’s in there for me, though. I’m gonna tell you that. So that’s the goal.”

As his release date approaches, anticipation is growing among fans and the hip hop community.

Max B’s statements suggest he intends to prioritize family, rebuild relationships, and pursue his career with renewed determination, marking a significant turning point in his life.
