Michael Blackson Says Katt Williams Recent Specials Have Not Been Good: “Give It a Long Break” [Video]

Comedian Michael Blackson believes that Katt Williams is doing too many stand-up specials.

While speaking with “The Art of Dialogue,” Blackson shared his thoughts on Williams’ most recent stand-up performances. According to the “Next Friday” star, the comic’s recent work hasn’t measured up to his earlier material.

“At one point I think Katt was so great…his last few specials has not been special to me. You know what I’m saying? It hasn’t been special to me. This last one, I didn’t like. Just the last four was not that great,” Blackson admitted.

Williams’ latest special, “Katt Williams: Woke Foke,” debuted on Netflix in May 2024, just months after his viral “Club Shay Shay” interview, a conversation many felt foreshadowed events like Diddy’s arrest. Despite the anticipation, the special received mixed reviews, and Blackson believes it’s time for Williams to take a step back.

“Katt went through some moments in his life. But, you know, but he’s still a legend and I still love this guy…he should probably like, take a break from doing a special. Like, give it a long break. I think specials should be, you can’t put them out every year. It’s gonna water down. Give it, like, you know, three, four years,” he explained. “Give it some time, Katt, and come back now you know. Let it miss the special.”

Williams has not responded to Blackson’s advice, though it may only be a matter of time before he does.
