Mike Tyson Says he Tried Acid For The First Time When He Was 11: “I Was A Kid, 10 Years Old, 9 Years Old. Smoking And Drinking”

We all know Mike Tyson as an iconic boxer, but did you know the first time he tried acid was when he was 11 years old?

On Jan. 17, Tyson visited #JoeRogen and opened up about several events from his life on the Rogen’s podcast the “Joe Rogen Experience.” During the 90-minute conversation, Tyson discussed his purchase of tiger cubs, his career as a boxer and the first time he tried acid – which was at the age of 11.

Tyson explained that while he’s never had a cup of coffee, he did test out acid. “I was a kid, 10 years old, 9 years old. Smoking and drinking,” Tyson said. “As I got older, I tried acid, probably 11. Real young.” He went on to say that when he began fighting regularly in his career, he mostly drank heavily but would sober up during training camps before fights.

Tyson also revealed that he used to get hypnotized in order to win fights. The 52-year-old said his trainer, Cus D’Amato, would take him to a hypnotist to ingrain the fighter mentality in him. “You relax. You go in there and totally focus on blackness, nothing. They tell you, ‘You’re going to be a savage, an intelligent animal, you’re working, you’re going to do this, you’re going to be a ferocious animal, you’re going to fight both hands to the body, use your jab in ferocious fashion,’ They sinked all that into me when I was younger.”

Lastly, Tyson spoke up the upcoming biopic that is being written about his life. “I haven’t seen anything, but it’s going to be pretty wild,” said Tyson. No one has been cast yet to play Tyson, but the former boxer says he wants actor #JamieFoxx to take on the role. “He can do anything.”
