Miss USA Contestants Will Now Have Access To Mental Health Programs Following The Death Of Cheslie Kryst

The Miss USA pageant is taking mental health more seriously following the death of 2019 Miss USA champion, Cheslie Kryst.

According to TMZ, the pageant president Crystle Stewart says the contestants will have access to mental health workshops. The workshops will pair the contestants with psychiatrists and mental health experts.

Crystle created her own foundation to help prepare the women on stage. She says the foundation will also teach them coping skillsĀ for when they feel anxious and show them how to dismiss depression if they don’t win.

The mental health programs will not just cater solely to the contestants that donā€™t win but the winners as well. Crystle believes that the winners go through a lot of mental health challenges because of how quickly they gain fame. Crystle also says that Cheslieā€™s death encouraged her to create the mental health programs.
As weā€™ve previously reported, Cheslie untimely death came after she committed suicide earlier this year. Cheslieā€™s mom says that the 2019 winner suffered from depression.
