Facebook went crazy on Wednesday, as a video of an adult holding a cigarillo up to a baby’s mouth to smoke went viral.

It turns out the adult was 20-year-old Briana Lofton, and she was putting a cigarillo with marijuana in it up to her 1-year-old daughter’s mouth. In the video, you can see the baby “take a puff” when her mom feeds it to her and blow out smoke.

Once the clip was seen by New York resident, Rasheed Martin, he was so outraged that he reposted the video and urged anyone and everyone to help him identify the mother so they could help the child.

The shares went around the world and back until someone finally spoke on who this dastardly woman was. They sent the link to her Facebook page and Martin tagged her in the post, urging officials to handle the situation from there.

Lofton lived in Raleigh, North Carolina and after the authorities were made aware of the video with over a million views, they went to her house and arrested her and took the little girl into the county’s child protective services.

Department officials told their Facebook followers in a post… “Big thanks to everyone who posted information about the smoking mother and baby. Thanks to your willingness to get involved, the child is now safe and the mother is in police custody.”

Briana Lofton has been charged with 2 counts of felony child abuse and one count of marijuana possession.
