A 7-year-old Dallas girl’s mother was arrested after being accused of stabbing her daughter over 30 times.
Madison Petry succumbed to her injuries on Thursday. Her mother, Troyshaye Mone Hall, 23, faces capital murder charges as well as an aggravated assault charge in the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy.
According to an affidavit, Hall’s mother told authorities that she was taking a bath on Thursday when she heard screaming. Hall’s brother told his mother that Hall had stabbed his teenage friend.
The mother and brother tried to take the knife from Hall, but she got away and stabbed her daughter, who was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
An autopsy report shows she was stabbed over 30 times.
Hall remains in Dallas County Jail.
