Multiple People Shot At Church In Laguna Woods, California, Suspect In Custody

Multiple people have reportedly been shot at Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods, California.

The Los Angeles Times reports that law enforcement sources say at least one person was killed. The total number of casualties remains unknown at this time. 

Orange County Fire Authority is on the scene and has reported transporting multiple victims to area hospitals. The sheriff’s department says that “four victims have been critically wounded, one with minor injuries.” All victims were adults.

The incident occurred at the church on the 24000 block of El Toro Road around 1:30 p.m.

The FBI has reportedly responded to the scene, and the bureau is assisting the Orange County sheriffs at the scene. The sheriff’s department said a weapon that may have been used was recovered.

One suspect has been detained in connection to the shooting.
