After weeks of touring across North America, Muni Long has made the difficult decision to step away from Brandy and Monica’s ‘The Boy Is Mine Tour.’
On Saturday, the singer, shared that ongoing health issues make it unsafe for her to continue performing.
Long has been candid about living with lupus, the autoimmune disease that has previously caused her to miss multiple shows.
Even during her recent performances, the toll of the tour was visible. She struggled to maintain energy at times, occasionally needing to sit mid-set to complete her songs.
Earlier in the tour, fans were able to enjoy select performances by R&B star Mya, who filled in while Long prioritized her health.
Long returned in early November appearing refreshed and determined, giving fans hope that she could finish the tour strong. Despite her efforts, it became apparent as the shows continued that her condition was still impacting her stamina.
In a heartfelt post on social media, Long explained her decision to withdraw from the tour.
“As many of you know, I’ve been battling some health issues throughout ‘The Boy Is Mine Tour.’ Despite doing everything I can to push through, my doctors have made it clear that it’s not safe for me to continue with the remaining dates of the tour,” she wrote.
She also thanked Brandy and Monica for the opportunity to join the tour and for their support during her challenges.
Even as she steps away from live performances, Long remains focused on her music career.
She continues to promote her single ‘Delulu’ and is reportedly working on a follow-up album to 2024’s ‘Revenge.’
Fans can look forward to new releases while she dedicates time to recovery and managing her lupus.
