Nas Gives Fans Streaming Rights To Two Songs In NFT Partnership

Nas is now selling extended versions of nonfungible tokens called limited digital assets. The NFT will allow fans to own a stake in his music.

The NFT music platform Royal announced on January 6th, saying they will be partnering up with Nas. Fans will now have access to purchase streaming rights to the rapper’s “King’s Disease and King’s Disease II tracks, “Ultra Black” and “Rare.”

On January 11th, fans will get to obtain the rights when Royal releases the NFT’s on their website. Nas will be giving up roughly half of his streaming rights for each song.

“I am always looking for new and unique ways to connect with the people. So I am excited to partner with Royal on their new endeavor in order for the world to connect with my music in a new way,” Nas said in a statement.

Royal CEO and co-founder Justin “3LAU” Blau says, “Having Nas be the first artist to sell royalty rights through Royal is an incredible affirmation of our mission. It’s proof that artists across genres feel strongly about democratizing ownership of their music, and that they want to be connected to their listeners on a deeper level.”
Along with Nas, Royal has gained the interest of plenty of other artists such as Logic, Stefflon Don, and Joyner Lucas.
