NBA Drama: Witness testifies that Heat Players were targeted in Real Estate Scam

Haider Zafar, pictured above, is facing a 135-count indictment in federal court on wire fraud and other charges. According to NBA.com, A criminal complaint says Zafar, a Pakistan native and U.S. legal resident, used questionable documents to solicit the funds from Sidhu for real-estate ventures in Pakistan. The complaint also states that Zafar swindled $10 million dollars out of Washington, D.C. businessman Patwinder Sidhu from 2008 to 2010.

A witness testified in federal court on thursday that Zafar targeted a few Miami Heat players as well. Heat players Rashard Jones, James Jones, former forward Mike Miller and other Florida residents invested $8 million in Zafar. NBA.com also states that the basketball players are not mentioned in the criminal complaint. The players are working with authorities during this investigation.
