New Music Friday has arrived just in time, and there is much to celebrate, thanks to the South.
Lil Baby gets the weekend started with his highly anticipated album, “The Leaks.” Following his Wham Wednesday streak, Baby has finally packaged his singles into a full body of work, with the previously released “Middle of the Summer” and “Otha Boy” making the final tracklist. In total, Baby delivers 15 cuts with features from Playboi Carti, Skooly, Lil Yachty, Lucki, Veeze, Rylo Rodriguez, and G Herbo. However, perhaps the most surprising feature is from Young Thug. The YSL founder had hinted at possible tension between the two following a string of leaked jail calls. Thankfully, things may be back on good terms, as Thugger makes an appearance on track 12, “Superman.” Baby has faced a wave of “fell off” debates across social media. With “The Leaks,” he proves exactly why he shouldn’t be counted out just yet.
GloRilla is signaling a new era with her double single release, “March” and “Special.” The Memphis star teased the singles earlier in the week after performing at the Bayou Classic with the Grambling State University Marching Band. “March” is a strong anthem that essentially tells anybody who can’t get with the program to “do what’s after February.” On the other hand, “Special” is much more reflective, offering a look back at how far Glo has come and what makes her stand out. During a recent press run, the CMG star shared that both records are the start of a new musical journey for her, with an album seemingly in the works.
Florida singer Loe Shimmy continues to rise to the occasion. Following the growing success of his single “3AM,” he has returned to deliver “Lost & Found.” The single serves as a perfect follow-up, with his signature crooning over smooth melodies. Though no album has been announced since July 2025’s “Rockstar Junkie,” it’s evident that Shimmy is remaining consistent as his buzz continues to attract fans.
