Nick Cannon To Guest Host The Wendy Williams Show Amid Wendy’s Hiatus

Nick Cannon will be filling in as a guest host for The Wendy Williams show as Wendy is still out on hiatus battling complications from Graves’ disease.

Williams, who’s been besieged with personal problems lately, announced her diagnosis of Graves’ disease- an immune system ailment characterized by overproduction of hormones of the thyroid, last year.

She released a statement earlier this month revealing that she would be taking a leave indefinitely from her hit talk show and would be spending “significant time” in the hospital due to serious complications from the disease.

The show had been airing re-runs since December while producers scrambled to come up with a plan.

Today, in an official statement via the show’s social media pages, it was announced that Cannon, who is also the host of Fox’s “The Masked Singer” and MTV’s “Wild n ‘ Out” will be the first guest host starting Monday, February 4th thru Wednesday’s February 6th.

The shows new hour-long format will still include some of Wendy’s staple segments like “Hot Topics” and “Ask Wendy,” along with Celebrity Interviews. No word yet on when Wendy is expected to return.
