Nicki Minaj called out YouTube for what she said was an attempt to stop her new music video from racking up views in the first 24 hours.
Monday, the rapper took to Instagram to share a screenshot of a letter she received regarding the official video for her Likkle Miss Remix (with Skeng). The letter noted that the platform determined that the music video “may not be suitable for viewers under the age of 18” and as a result, got age-restricted– meaning the content wouldn’t be visible to users who are logged out of YouTube and are under the age of 18.

“They restricted my fucking video but have things a million fucking times worse on their BOGUS FKNG PLATFORM,” Nicki said on Instagram. “this is what they do to keep you from winning while doing ads for other ppl and posting FAKE FKNG STATS. 😂😂😂😂😂 because the same ppl who run YouTube are in bed with a certain record label and mngmnt company. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 GO SUCK OUT YA MUDDA BIG PUM PUM. LYOR IT BETTER NOT BE YOU.”
In a separate post, Nicki continued calling out the platform, saying, “This was done to stop us from getting a lot of views in the first 24 hours.” She also accused the platform of working in cahoots with a particular record label and management company.
In response, YouTube quietly removed the age restriction from the music video on Monday afternoon.
