Some Barbz and City Girls‘ fans have been waiting for a collab between the iconic rapper and the fan-favorite duo. Nicki Minaj has collabed with most new female artists prior to beefs, like Megan Thee Stallion on “Hot Girl Summer,” Doja Cat in “Say So,” and Cardi B in “MotorSport,” but she still hasn’t with the City Girls.
In a recent interview, she revealed she would’ve hopped on a track until she found out the hip-hop duo was talking trash about her.
The “No Frauds” rapper says, “A few years ago, I saw a video of them, and I asked someone on their team at the time…I was thinking about jumping on a record, one of their records that was out at that time.”
She claims then “social media happened.” She implied that she saw questionable tweets from the City Girls about her as a rapper that wasn’t tasteful. She compared the incident to going out to eat with friends; then, hearing a friend talk about you, she says, “I’m not going to go out to dinner with you anymore.”
She also says it’s squashed. However, she won’t be working with them any time soon.
“It’s let’s go, but it’s about, why would I work with someone that doesn’t like me?” She also implies that the tweets were a repeated thing over the years. It looks like there will not be a collab in the future.
