Ninth-Grader Bryce James Gets First D1 Basketball Offer From Duquesne University

At age 15, Bryce James has earned his first basketball scholarship offer from Duquesne University.

On Sunday, the ninth-grader shared the news on his Instagram Story, writing that he was “blessed” to receive his first D1 offer from the university located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The rising star has been on recruiters’ radar since his growth spurt earlier this year. Standing at 6-foot-6, the guard/forward is attracting just as much attention as his famous father, LeBron James.

The teenage phenom recently stunned on the court alongside his older brother, Bronny James, at the California Basketball Club for a European tour. The tournament marked the first time that the brothers played together as teammates.

Bryce currently plays for Sierra Canyon School on their JV team, while 17-year-old Bronny plays on the prestigious private school’s varsity team.

Bryce is slated to graduate in 2025, so he has plenty of time to decide where he’d like to take his basketball career next. However, given the family history at Duquesne, he’d be in good hands on the team. Head coach Keith Dambrot coached LeBron during his time at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio.
