Rapper NLE Choppa Arrested on Burglary, Drugs, and Weapons Charges

It looks like our spiritual rapper NLE Choppa may have strayed off the path from his divine transformation.

NLE Choppa, whose real name is Byron Potts, was arrested on burglary, drugs, and weapons charges on Sunday. According to Florida jail records, he was arrested and taken to the Broward County Jail in downtown Fort Lauderdale, where he is still being held.

Choppa faces charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure, possessing a concealed weapon, possession of cannabis weighing 20 grams or less, and possession of Alprazolam, a generic form of Xanax. The bond for the rapper is reportedly $4,500.

The 18-year-old had been living a clean lifestyle while leaning on meditation to stay on the straight-and-narrow. Choppa also told Fox Soul’s The Mix he had stopped smoking weed earlier this year.

“After I got out that meditation, I just started to realize everything was energy,” he explained after trying to meditate for the first time. “I tried to smoke when I came out of my meditation, and I ate some meat, and after I did that, I felt the same way I did before I meditated.”

NLE Choppa continued, “I started to realize what was making me think a certain way. I kid you not, I cold-turkeyed myself a few days later, and I stopped eating meat. I told my friends if they was around me smoking weed, they couldn’t be around me. I really started to cut a lot out of my life.”

Let’s try not to judge too much; hopefully, he can explain what happened. Sometimes we all lose our footing, and we need to get back on the right path.
