North West Disappears From Instagram After Piercing Critics Flood Her Comments

North West watched her brief Instagram era come to an abrupt halt just weeks after it began.

The 12 year old’s account has quietly vanished, with searches now showing messages that the page “wasn’t available” or “may have been removed.” At this point, it’s still unclear whether the profile was taken down by Instagram or disabled by her parents.

North, the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Ye launched the account on December 20 under her own name. Her bio noted that the page was “managed by [her] parents.” Early activity was limited, including a blurry photo and a few Stories featuring friends, but the debut alone was enough to spark conversation.

That reaction was fueled by Ye’s past stance on social media. In 2022, he publicly criticized Kim for allowing North to appear on TikTok, posting a heated message that read, “I am her father and I know y’all don’t respect fathers and the idea of family [but] I said I’m not allowing my daughter to be used by TikTok, to be used by Disney. I have a say so.” He doubled down in the caption, writing, “I told y’all before about this tik tok stuff.”

More recently, that position appeared to shift. TMZ reported that the music producer approved of North’s social media presence after a Christmas reunion with Kim, with sources noting the former couple has remained cordial for the sake of their children.

Even so, North’s posts quickly became a lightning rod. Her fashion choices, piercings, and bold looks drew intense scrutiny online. In one of her last uploads before the account disappeared, she lip synced to audio from Chrisean Rock saying, “Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together.” She paired it with the caption, “This is for everyone that’s mad over a finger piercing.”

For now, North’s Instagram page is gone, but the debate around celebrity kids, autonomy, and public judgment is clearly still very much alive.
