A New York man has been charged with murdering his pregnant ex-girlfriend.
Justin Soriano has been charged with second-degree murder for the killing of his 31-year-old ex-girlfriend Shanice Young. Police arrested the man in Bronx Thursday morning.
Soriano reportedly murdered Young Sunday on West 128th Street, CBS New York reports. According to investigators, Young was coming home from her own baby shower and was possibly trying to break up a fight. That’s when she was shot. She was killed along with her unborn child.
“Our hope here is that this apprehension begins the process of closure for the family and, just as importantly, for the community for this terrible, terrible crime,” NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said.
There are no details on who the intended target was.
