NYPD Searching For Suspects Responsible For Vandalizing Notorious B.I.G Mural In Brooklyn [Video]

Authorities are currently looking for suspects responsible for defacing a Notorious B.I.G mural in Brooklyn.

CBS News first reported that on Friday, the mural located on the corner of St. James Place and Fulton Street in Clinton Hill was vandalized. The unknown suspect spray painted over Biggie’s face and wrote “East Coast” across the painting.

In 2019, artist Vincent Ballentine spent two days crafting the mural to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the rapper’s death.

“I think the neighborhood really saw it as he was one of ours. And he made it out, and he made something of himself. That’s the story people hold on to,” Ballentine says.

Mayor Eric Adams commented on the incident, stating that the vandalism was “unacceptable.”

“Biggie is a hero to our community, and that’s darn sure not how you spread love the Brooklyn way, as Biggie would say,” Adams said. “We’re going to look into that and make sure that mural is cleaned up and repaired because this has a place there, and it remains there, and we want to find the person responsible.”
