Rapper Offset has cleared a major financial hurdle as his high-profile divorce continues to play out in public view.
According to newly filed records, the Internal Revenue Service has released a federal tax lien after Offset paid off a $1.57 million debt tied to his 2022 taxes. The lien, which was originally filed on April 3, 2024, was officially released on December 26, 2025, bringing significant relief to the rapper’s overall tax balance.
The released lien detailed an amount of $1,575,266.73 owed for the 2022 tax year. With that payment resolved, Offset’s remaining tax issues are notably smaller, though not fully behind him. He is still facing a separate federal lien filed on October 15, alleging he owes $486,426.35 in taxes for 2023.
In addition, the Georgia Department of Revenue filed a lien in March 2025 that has yet to be released. That state filing claims Offset owes roughly $292,000 for 2021. The original balance was listed at $167,916, but interest, penalties, collection fees, and other costs pushed the total much higher. Combined, the unresolved liens total $778,426.
Taxes have also become a flashpoint in Offset’s divorce from Cardi B, who publicly addressed the issue in September 2025.
“The only reason why I’m still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes,” she alleged. “The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes… and give them one of my properties. I’m fighting for that.”
She added, “I’m not gonna live my life because on a contract I’m practically still married because somebody wanna hold me hostage if I don’t give them millions of dollars to get out of it.”
Offset and Cardi B, who were first linked in 2017, share three children. Cardi later announced she was expecting her fourth child with NFL star Stefon Diggs.
Separate from the tax matters, Offset is also dealing with a civil lawsuit tied to an alleged 2021 assault at a Florida club. A judge previously entered a $232,000 default judgment against him, which he is currently attempting to overturn. A hearing on that matter is scheduled for February 2026.
