Ohio State Football Team Visits The White House

One of the biggest perks that comes with winning a national championship is getting the chance to hang out with the President of the United States. On Monday, the 2014 College Football Playoff Champion Ohio State Buckeyes traveled to Washington DC to visit the White House and meet President Obama. Led by Coach Urban Meyer and Ohio State University President Michael V. Drake, the Buckeyes spent the afternoon talking, joking around, and posing for pictures with the President.

The White House hosted a ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of the Ohio State football team. Obama gave a speech to the players as well as a large crowd of fans who were invited to participate in the ceremony. He congratulated the team for its success and for their strong character and resilience. He also picked on certain players, thanking running back Ezekiel Elliott for not wearing one of his infamous crop tops to the White House and doing his best imitation of defensive end Joey Bosa’s shrug. Obama also made sure he got some credit for his contribution to Ohio State’s championship. “This was a historic year in college football, the country got to enjoy its first ever college football playoffs. And I will say it, it was about time. I cannot claim full credit, but I will point out that I pushed for a playoff system in 2008.”
