Omarion Urges Everyone To Be Aware Of Catfishing Scams After Woman Believed She Was Engaged to Him [Video]

Omarion wants people to be aware of catfishers online. He says we should all be “smart” regarding scams.

“Be smart, family,” Omarion said on Instagram after learning of a woman who was scammed by a man pretending to be him.“So many people have stories saying they spoke with me online. I don’t take advantage of people. I respect and appreciate people who support me.”

Omarion’s advice comes after a woman named Simone appeared on the Dr. Phil show saying she was engaged to someone who claimed to be the singer online.

During the episode, Simone said she came on the show to find out “the truth” about her situation.

“His manager wants me to pay $3,000 to meet him,” Simone told Dr. Phil. She also said she believed that the singer bought her a ring despite having never met and asked her to marry him last year.

Simone said she and the person acting as Omarion began talking in 2020 and that she had already dished out $300 for a fan club service.

However, her concerned friend who reached out to the show says she’s already sent out roughly $4,500 to the scammer.
