With winter sports dominating seasonal headlines and ski culture drawing fresh attention, Ore-Ida is entering the slopes conversation with a limited edition product that blends nostalgia, performance, and playful design. The frozen food brand has announced the launch of Ore-Ida French Fry Skis, marking its first move from the freezer aisle to the mountains.
For many skiers, learning the sport comes with a shared milestone. Beginners start in “pizza,” then graduate to “French Fry,” ski culture’s unofficial signal of growing confidence and control. Ore-Ida is leaning directly into that moment. For the first time ever, skiers can quite literally “French fry” on French fries. The skis are inspired by the brand’s iconic crinkle cut fries and were developed in collaboration with premium ski manufacturer Fischer Sports.
Designed for real slope use, Ore-Ida French Fry Skis feature bold ridges that mimic the classic crinkle cut shape, a golden fry-inspired colorway, and a ketchup red base meant to stand out against the snow. While visually playful, the skis are built with performance in mind, positioning them as more than novelty gear.
The limited edition skis will retail for $250 per pair and go on sale February 1, 2026. They will be available through Amazon and select retailers in Oregon and Idaho, including Mountain Shop and PK’s Skis and Sports, while supplies last.
To mark the launch, Ore-Ida will host a pop-up experience during X Games 2026 at Aspen Snowmass from January 23 through January 25, offering ski demos and warm servings of its signature fries.
