It’s barely January 1 and hip hop already back on its regularly scheduled mess. While most folks were still shaking off champagne and fireworks, Papoose decided to kick off the year by inserting himself into the ongoing everybody vs 50 Cent beef and left the internet asking the same question. Why?
Papoose took to social media and posted an AI generated video of 50 Cent dancing in heels, paired with a caption calling him out for deflecting and dodging smoke from Maino, Fabolous, and the rest of the Let’s Rap About It podcast crew. He questioned whether 50 was from the southside like he claims and joked about ghostwriting for him while straight up calling him a chump. No bars. No record. Just vibes and visuals.
What’s confusing is Papoose was never part of the original issue. The beef started weeks ago when Maino, Fabolous, Jim Jones, and Dave East publicly criticized 50 Cent over his role in a controversial documentary. That criticism turned into online shots, Instagram posts, and eventually a freestyle where the pod crew aimed directly at 50. Curtis responded in classic fashion with insults, jokes, and dismissive energy, turning the situation into a full blown social media back and forth.
Papoose wasn’t mentioned. He wasn’t tagged. He wasn’t part of the freestyle. Yet here he is on day one of the year making himself loud in a beef that already had enough players.

The move feels less about standing on principle and more about jumping into a trending moment. Instead of rapping, he went the AI meme route, which tells you exactly how beef works in 2026. Less diss tracks. More digital clowning.
Whether 50 Cent responds or ignores it completely is the real question. Until then, Papoose has officially entered the chat.
