Defensive End Chandler Jones has been the talk of Foxboro after he was rendered medical attention early Sunday morning. According to the Boston Herald, around 7:40 am Jones showed up at the local police station. Jones was allegedly seeking medical help, and after an evaluation he was transported to a nearby hospital.
The facts of the situation are very limited, especially following the apparent deletion of police records. However audio from the authorities dispatch was obtained and sheds a little more light on the situation. In the audio you can hear the dispatcher refer to a person who is perceived to be Jones as “confused.”
According to the Foxboro police Chief, Jones had no interaction with his department. When asked about his statement later, the Chief implied that he didn’t consider the interaction because it was medical related.
Jones nor the Patriots have commented on the situation thus far. The consensus among players seems to be that outside stories are just distractions that they aren’t willing to entertain. Jones did attend practice Wednesday and thus far is expected to play on Saturday.
