On Tuesday, the first 200 customers were able to meet LaBelle and take photos with the legendary singer, according to Fox 26 Houston. The Godmother of Soul built Patti’s Good Life around her own recipes, offering products in major retailers like Walmart, Target, and Kroger. Signature items such as sweet potato pie and macaroni and cheese remain top sellers.
“People think of me as a cook, someone who’s going to give them quality food. And I don’t put my name on anything unless it’s 110% perfect,” LaBelle told Forbes back in 2023.
That same year, Patti’s Good Life reportedly generated nearly $200 million in gross sales, with top products contributing about $85 million, according to Essence. She first introduced the pancake and waffle mix in 2024. Now, the breakfast favorite is available in more stores, with even more fluffy flavor.
Walmart CEO Doug McMillon added, “Even today we’re selling more than five times the number of sweet potato pies than we did before we launched our Patti sweet potato pie.”
LaBelle’s pancake and waffle mix continues the expansion of her successful food brand, which began in 2008 and has become a household name nationwide.
