Several polling locations have reported a shortage in ballots in Pennsylvania, and it’s affecting residents’ ability to vote.
WPXI reports multiple polling stations don’t have enough ballots, some specifically for Republican ballots for the upcoming primary elections. The areas involved in the shortage include Stowe Township, Hanover Heights, and other areas within Allegheny County.
In one instance, a Hanover Heights station only received 10 Republican ballots. Others have only received 20, WPXI reports. In the midst of the issue, voters have been turned away. Both Democratic voters and Republican voters have been impacted, the news outlet reports.
Robin Parilla, who is the president of Stowe Township Council, says she tried to reach out to the country for assistance, but no one is picking up or answering. For Allegheny County, officials say it’s best to resort to using express voting machines.
County officials are telling those who have been turned away to make another attempt to vote.
