Peter Thomas has officially traded in his federal prison uniform for house arrest.
After serving a little over seven months at FCI Miami, the 65-year-old entrepreneur and former Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member was released this week. While he isn’t fully in the clear, Thomas is now under the supervision of the Miami Residential Reentry Management Office, marking a significant step toward completing his legal obligations.
To celebrate the move, Thomas shared his first Instagram update since last October. In the video, he appeared in high spirits, dancing to T.I.’s newest hit single, “Let ‘Em Know.”
His homecoming follows a December 2024 guilty plea regarding one count of failing to pay trust fund taxes, a case where he was accused of withholding roughly $650,000 in employee wages from his Charlotte, North Carolina, restaurant.
While Thomas originally faced an 18-month sentence and was ordered to pay $2.5 million in restitution, his early transition to home confinement suggests he maintained good behavior behind bars.
However, his freedom still comes with major strings attached. Once his house arrest concludes, Thomas will start a two-year probation period. During this time, he is strictly prohibited from using any drugs or engaging in excessive drinking.
