The girlfriend of missing child Samuel Olson’s father has been arrested and charged by Houston police in connection with the missing boy’s disappearance.
Theresa Balboa has been charged with tampering with evidence, according to court documents. She is currently being held at Harris County Jail on a $500,000 bond. Police said during a news conference that more charges could be added, according to Click2Houston.com.
An anonymous Crime Stoppers tip led police to a Best Western motel in Jasper, Texas, where a black plastic bin containing a child’s body was discovered. The body is pending identification from the medical examiner. However, the body is believed to belong to 6-year-old Olson, who was reported missing last week.
Police have questioned Balboa multiple times since she has been taken into custody, according to KHOU-11. Police have said there is still no motive in the case.
The boy’s father, Dalton Olson, has also been questioned by police. He is not considered a person of interest at this time.
At the time of her arrest, Balboa was out on bond for an unrelated assault case.
