Police Drop Charges For One Man Accused of Being Involved in Gym Beat Down of 6IX9INE

 The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they dropped the charges of one man charged in the attack on 6ix9ine.

Anthony Maldonado will no longer face prosecution for the brutal LA Fitness assault that occurred last month.

Initially, Maldonado, Rafael Medina, Jr., and Octavious Medina were arrested on March 30 and charged with assault and robbery in connection to beat down that was captured on video and circulated on social media.

Octavious and Rafeal Medina Jr. are still being charged, XXL learned.

Maldonado confirmed his charges in an IG Live interview posted earlier this week.

“I literally am so confused by the whole situation,” he said. “I walk out the house and literally they have six detectives outside, everybody with assault rifles, German Shepherds and stuff, walking me out like a killer in front of all my neighbors.

“They take me to the police station, and they don’t even do a proper investigation. They didn’t ask me who I was with, where I was at that night, none of that. They just said, ‘You look like the guy and that’s you,’” he said in reference to surveillance footage from inside the gym.

Maldonado said police accused him of using his gym entry badge to let the culprits in, but he claims it’s a case of mistaken identity because he was “at home preparing for Bible study.”

Police still don’t have a clear motive for why the Brooklyn rapper was attacked but did learn that Medina, Jr. is a high-ranking Latin Kings gang member.

The rapper suffered contusions to his face, jaw, and ribs and was hospitalized for four days.
