Prices for NFL Tickets are Skyrocketing, Topping Pre-Covid Sales

Ticket prices for the upcoming NFL season continue to sell at high rates after reducing the average price. SeatGeek, a secondary marketing platform for events, says seats are still selling higher than pre-pandemic levels.

According to CNBC, ticket prices averaged $307 immediately following the release of the NFL’s schedule Thursday.

Football fans were mainly interested in key matchups like QB Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs taking on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Though the price is down from last year’s $411, it’s still higher than the average in 2020 of $305. The ticket prices continue to soar. In 2019 the standard was only $258.

Endeavor’s CEO Ari Emanuel says, “I think people want high-end experiences, want to get out, and they’ve been pent-up for several years now.” CNBC believes the high rise is a sign that people will continue to cash out on “big live entertainment.”

This year’s top-selling fame so far is Chiefs vs. Bucs in Week 4.

Most of the anticipation and hype from the Week 4 Game comes from Chiefs’ Mahomes vs. Bucs’ Brady. It would be a rematch since Super Bowl LV last year, when the Bucs beat the Chief, 31-9.

It is also a buzz-worthy game since Tom Brady announced his retirement, then changed his mind and decided he would return to football. It’s also revealed that he will make a TV debut as a FOX broadcaster once he is officially done playing. The 10-year contract puts over $300 million in his pocket.

The NFL will kickstart the 18-week schedule with the Buffalo Bucs vs. Los Angeles Rams on September 8th.
