Prosecutor Details Nipsey Hussle’s Last Moments as Murder Trial Begins

The murder trial of Nipsey Hussle’s killer kicked off Wednesday and included disturbing details about the rapper’s final moments.

During the opening statements, prosecutor John McKinney revealed to jurors that the accused murderer, Eric Holder, was captured on surveillance video shooting Nipsey at least ten times with two different weapons on March 31st, 2019. The deadly attack took place outside of Nip’s beloved Marathon clothing store. McKinney detailed how Holder initially fled from Nipsey’s body but quickly returned to keep shooting him. Holder then walked over to Nip and kicked him in the head, telling the dying rapper, “You’re through.” As Nipsey lay dying, he reportedly replied, “You got me,” before Holder left the scene for good.

The LAPD identified Holder as a suspect one day after the murder. He was apprehended after a two-day manhunt that ended in Bellflower. He has confessed to killing the Grammy-award-winning MC but claims it was a crime of passion and not premeditated.

The new details highlight the gruesome nature of the crime that stemmed from Nipsey raising concerns about Holder being a snitch. McKinney said the 33-year-old’s body was riddled with bullets as he was “shot from literally the bottom of his feet to the top of his head.”

Holder has been charged with one count of murder, one count of possession of a firearm by a felon, and two counts of attempted murder for the two other people who were injured in the gunfire. He is facing a life sentence if convicted.
