Pusha T isn’t losing any sleep over Kanye West missing their friendship. In a new Complex cover story with Clipse, the Virginia rapper made it clear that whatever once was between him and Ye is firmly in the past.
“I don’t care about that at all,” Push said about Ye’s comments after hearing “Ace Trumpets.” “I’m sure. I would miss me, too. I really would.”
He explained that once trust is gone, so is the relationship. “I’m not in a position to where I can even risk and gamble with the wishy-washiness or the lack of loyalty,” he said. “I don’t play like that… I’m with my brother and Pharrell, come on.”
Pusha’s issues with Ye apparently came to a head during the “Donda” sessions.
“It is just a whole host and a cast of characters,” he recalled. “You surround yourself by all this chaos. It’s not for me.”
He added, “Just in how he tends to connect with a lot of people that I don’t connect with… That’s just not my name.”
On a June episode of the “NYT Popcast,” Pusha said, “We’re nothing. We can’t be anything outside of music… His principles, his morals, his mindset, we don’t see eye to eye.”
In GQ, he dug even deeper.
“He knows I don’t think he’s a man… He’s showed me the weakest sides of him, and he knows how I think of weak people,” Pusha added.
Ye previously tweeted that he missed his former friend, though it’s evident Pusha is not interested.
