Amid the mounting allegations of sexual assault and misconduct against R. Kelly, the self-proclaimed Pied Piper is opening up about the claims.
In a statement released on Friday, Kelly said he’s “heartbroken” by the accusations, as he added that he’s a “God-fearing man, a son, a brother and most importantly a father.”
He also called out the media, saying it “has dissected and manipulated these false allegations.” In fact, he said the claims “perpetuated by the media” are an “attempt to distort my character and to destroy my legacy that I have worked so hard to build.”
In the wake of Kelly’s recent statement though, two more women have come forward with allegations against the living legend.
According to BuzzFeed, a woman by the name of Lizzette Martinez said she was in a relationship with the singer back in 1995 when she was 17 years old.
“The first time I had sex with him there was a party going on,” Martinez said of the time she lost her virginity. Kelly was 28 at the time. “Some of his crew gave me alcohol and I was drunk basically when we had sex.”
During their four-year relationship, Martinez said the singer controlled her, abused her and forced her to perform sexual acts “against her will.” She also said he got her pregnant and tried to make her abort, but she didn’t want to. However, she later miscarried.
When their relationship ended due to Martinez’s sickness, she contacted a lawyer but ultimately decided not to pursue legal action against the R&B singer, Page Six reports.
“I wasn’t in it ever for money, and I didn’t want to go through that. I mean, I knew he was wrong. I was hurt by him. But I couldn’t rehash it again. It was just too new. It was just to much pain. I had a new life.”
In addition Martinez, according to BuzzFeed, another woman, identified only as Michelle, said her 27-year-old daughter also got with Kelly at the age of 17 and has been “brainwashed” ever since.
She said she hasn’t been able to contact her daughter in three months and hasn’t seen her since 2016 years after she left with her friend Jerhonda Pace to move in with Kelly.
“Something’s got to be done,” Michelle said. “Enough is enough.”
