Ray J’s legal woes just went from bad to worse. Days before his high-profile arrest over a livestream confrontation with estranged wife Princess Love, Ray J was hit with a lawsuit for nearly $140,000 in unpaid credit card debt.
On November 19, American Express filed a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court, naming Ray J and his media company, Tronix Network. According to the lawsuit, obtained exclusively by Us Weekly, Ray J stopped making payments in May and now owes $139,849.85.
The financial trouble comes on the heels of a disturbing incident livestreamed from Ray J’s home on November 27, where he appeared to load a gun and make threats. Police responded to a domestic violence call and arrested Ray J. He was later released on a $50,000 bond.
Princess Love later posted on Instagram, saying, “Enough is enough,” and claimed Ray J pulled a gun on her and another family member. Ray J denied the allegations in a video that was later deleted.
The couple, who married in 2016 and share two children, have filed for divorce multiple times. Their latest filing is still pending.
Ray J has not responded to the lawsuit.
