R&B Singer Neyo Filed for Divorce, Later Withdraws

Written by-@pistolwhippedya

Last month, R&B singer Ne-Yo filed for divorce from wife Crystal Smith. According to Georgia court documents, the singer claimed the marriage was “irretrievably broken” without any hope of reconciliation.

Ne-Yo requested that the Court enforce the prenuptial agreement that was signed prior to the marriage, as well as joint custody. The couple wed in 2016 and have two kids.

The outlet now reports Ne-Yo has since withdrawn his petition. Leaving us to wonder if the couple has reconciled.

Trouble seemed to be on the horizon earlier this year after Ne-Yo released his single, “Pinky Ring,” which contained lyrics about turning a wedding ring into a pinky ring, and Crystal was seen spending time with Chicago’s Black Ink Crew member, Ryan Henry.

Shortly after, Ne-Yo announced during a podcast interview that they had split. “It’s slowly but surely becoming public knowledge that myself and my wife have decided to go ahead and get a divorce. It’s not a sad thing, it’s more of us realizing — long story short, I’m never gonna talk bad about her. I’m not that person. There’s nothing bad to say about her. She’s a fantastic woman. She’s the mother of my children and she’s always gonna be that and I will always respect her.”

Social media has led us to believe that the couple has been spending time together during the pandemic which may be a sign that the couple will stay together.
