Recall Issued For Walgreens, Kroger Brand Pills Over Child Safety Standard Issues

Pill brands by Walgreens and Kroger have been recalled after it was found that they did not meet child safety standards.

On Thursday, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of more than 407,000 store-purchase pill bottles after it was found that they don’t meet safety regulations set by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act for children and could pose a threat to their health if consumed.

Aurohealth recalled Walgreens and Kroger. For Kroger, the company recalled 25,660 bottles of Kroger’s arthritis pain acetaminophen 200 count bottles, KIRO 7 reports. For Walgreeens, 137,300 bottles of the Walgreens brand acetaminophen bottles that contain 150 counts of pills were recalled.

Aspirin and ibuprofen from Kroger were also bottled pills that were included in a recall by Pharma. Those who purchased the pills are asked to dispose of the pills or contact Kroger for information on how to return them and get a refund.
