Rioter Seen Carrying Zip Ties In The Capitol Turned In By Ex-Wife

The rioter who was seen in the U.S. Capitol carrying zip ties has been arrested after his ex-wife called authorities after seeing him on the news.

On Sunday, former Air Force Combat officer Larry Rendell Brock of Texas was apprehended by FBI agents after agreeing to meet with them at Grapevine’s police station. The 53-year-old has been charged with two federal counts of knowingly entering a restricted building without lawful entering and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct.

While Brock’s arrest affidavit indicates that several people turned him in after seeing him on the news, it was his ex-wife of 18 years who reported him to the FBI. Another person reported Brock after recognizing his tattoos.

According to the affidavit, Brock’s ex-wife was not surprised that her former boo was in attendance at the violent riot.

“I just know that when I saw this was happening, I was afraid he would be there,” Brock’s ex-wife allegedly told the FBI before adding, “I think you already know he was there. It is such a good picture, and I recognize his patch.” Brock can be seen wearing multiple patches on his chest during the raid.

Last Saturday, Brock confessed to The New Yorker that he was pictured inside the Senate chamber sporting a green helmet and body armor. During his interview, Brock justified his participation in the riot because he believed that the election was stolen, resulting in Joe Biden being elected the next president.

As for the zip ties, Brock claims that he located them on the ground.

“I wish I had not picked those up,” he told the New Yorker. “My thought process there was I would pick them up and give them to an officer when I see one. I didn’t do that because I had put them in my coat, and I honestly forgot about them.”

Brock has yet to enter a plea.
