Aaron Rodgers officially joined the Pat McAfee Show yesterday to announce he’s signing a one-year, $13.65 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers—and confirmed at age 41 that it’ll likely be his final season. The move follows an underwhelming second year with the New York Jets, where things never quite clicked.

“I’m pretty sure this is it,” Rodgers said. He explained the Steelers didn’t tack on extra years because “this was really about finishing with a lot of love and fun and peace for the career that I’ve had.”

The deal sets the stage for an entertaining 2025 season, including a Week 1 clash against his former team, the Jets, and a Week 8 showdown with his longtime former team, the Packers. Rodgers described his motivation: “I love the game…it was my first love when I was six years old, dreaming about playing quarterback and being in the Super Bowl.”

As a 20-year NFL veteran, Rodgers assured fans he’ll give Pittsburgh his all. “I’m gonna give the Steelers everything that I’ve got and I’m gonna empty the tank.”

It’s shaping up to be a bittersweet farewell tour for one of the league’s most captivating figures—filled with calculated precision on the field and unpredictable moments off.
