Russell Simmons Responds To $10 Million Rape Lawsuit; Says It Is “A Work Of Pure Fiction” and Extortion

Back in March, a woman identified as Jane Doe filed a $10 million suit against #RussellSimmons, claiming the music mogul raped her and threatened to violate her elementary school-aged son. At the time, Simmons “vehemently” denied all the allegations made against him and maintained he never had non-consensual sex with anyone.

Now though, the music mogul is taking his defense to the next level, claiming his accuser is part of an extortion plot to get money out of a rich man.

In new docs obtained by TMZ, Simmons says Doe’s suit is an attempt to “extort large sums of money from Mr. Simmons and for her lawyer to try to make a name for himself.” In fact, he claims Doe’s lawsuit is “a work of pure fiction,” and should be tossed due to the statue of limitations.

When the story broke last month, the date of the alleged rape was not mentioned. But now, according to TMZ, Simmons says the woman claimed the alleged incident went down in 1988  after the two met at a hip-hop concert. As a result, Simmons believes the statue of limitations are up on such claim, so the case should be tossed.
