Some people really need to find a legit hobby besides trolling others on the Internet. We’ve all seen what can happen when a celeb or athlete says or tweets the wrong thing in public. Well, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson became the latest victim of Internet trolls this afternoon after tweeting to his followers that he went to see the new movie “50 Shades of Grey” last night, adding that he thought it was a great movie.
Some fans were outraged that Russell, a self-proclaimed Christian, would go see such a sexual and provocative movie and actually enjoy it. The angry responses ranged from “I thought you were a Christian” to “That movie is moral filth” to “I’m not sure how you can quote Bible verses all the time and then say this is a good movie”. After seeing all the backlash on social media, Russell defended his earlier tweet.
Hopefully that will shut all the critics up. I mean, who genuinely gets upset over someone else’s choice in movies, especially someone that you don’t even know personally? I’d be more interested in knowing who he went to see this movie with, considering “50 Shades” is more of a Valentine’s Day date type of movie and last I heard, he was single. Maybe he just wanted to see the movie himself, in which case, do you Russell.
