As if shooting himself in the leg weren’t enough, its sad to say the storm cloud still surrounds Mr. Burress. As of yesterday he found himself without a job. Nothing in life is certain as I’ve been told, but while you’re among the land of the living you should live your life accordingly; trouble free.
Throughout his tenure with the Giants it was filled with fines & of course trouble. Despite the negative energy surrounding him, he’s a player full of talent. Perhaps one of the best receivers in the league. What team wouldn’t want him? He’d clearly have to clean his life up a little. No team wants a cancer, & that has been proven. Just ask Pacman Jones, lol.
Lets see will the Redskins pick him up? I wouldn’t be mad at it!
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (April 3) – The New York Giants released Super Bowl hero Plaxico Burress on Friday, a little more than four months after the talented but troubled wide receiver accidentally shot himself in the thigh in a New York City nightclub.
Burress’ four-year tenure with the Giants was highlighted by a game-winning touchdown catch in the Super Bowl against the previously undefeated New England Patriots in February 2008, but it also was dogged by fines and suspensions.
Burress’ status had been uncertain since he shot himself on Nov. 29 with an unlicensed gun he’d stuffed into his waistband and carried into the Latin Quarter nightclub in Manhattan. He faces a felony weapons charge that could put him in prison for at least 3 1/2 years if convicted.
Burress’ case was adjourned on Tuesday while his attorneys and prosecutors worked on a possible plea agreement. He is due back in court on June 15.
