Serena Williams came up short over the weekend with a Wimbledon finale loss to Angelique Kerber. Still, Serena Williams is all that there is to talk about.

Following her loss, the 36-year-old super mom had a message to mothers around the world.

“These past 2 weeks was a sound for all moms stay home and working you can do it you really can!” Williams tweeted on Monday morning. “I’m not any better or diff than any of you all. Your support has meant so much to me. Let’s keep making noise everyday in everything we do.”

The comments weren’t much different than those that she made immediately after the loss that would’ve once been extremely devastating for the competitive tennis great.

“For all the moms out there, I was playing for you today,” she announced in the court.

Williams had previously discussed the Wimbledon custom regarding ranking for those who take time off due to injuries. According to Williams, while it was made clear that those who must leave due to injuries would lose their top seeded ranking, there was never a mention of mothers who pause for maternity leave.

Eventually Wimbledon set the rule, and Williams lost her top seeded ranking. However, after her Wimbledon appearance, Williams has climbed 153 spots, back into the top 30, at number 28.

This is just Williams’ fourth tournament since giving birth to her baby girl Alexis Olympia. While she’s still in the process of making a comeback, it’s evident that Williams has more than one prize in mind.
