Sha’Carri Richardson Finishes In Last Place, “Talk All The Sh—You Want Because I’m Here To Stay”

On Saturday, track star Sha’ Carri Richardson finished last while competing in the 100-meter dash at the Prefontaine Classic.

Before the meet, Richardson wrote alongside an Instagram video, “Aug, 21, and I’m not playing nice.” Many of us took it as a warning that she was bringing her A-game and would smoke all participants, which included all three Olympic medalists in the event.

After testing positive for marijuana before the Olympic Summer Games in Tokyo, Richardson was disqualified. However, she was given a second chance to prove herself to run again on Saturday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Unfortunately, it didn’t go well for her. Richardson was badly beaten, coming in last at 11.14 seconds, which was more than half a second behind the time of Elaine Thompson-Herah of Jamaica, the Tokyo gold medalist.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Thompson-Herah’s countrywoman, came in second, Yahoo Sports reported. Shericka Jackson came in third. A replica of how the podium looked during the summer Olympic games.

Still, Richardson’s interview was full of confidence following the race. “It was one race,” she said. “I’m not done. You know what I’m capable of.”

Granted, she became an instant sensation after coming in first place in the 100 meters event at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials.
