Shake Shack Debuting Korean-Style Chicken

Shake Shack is putting their bid in the chicken sandwich battle by introducing their Korean-style Fried Chick’n Sandwich and Korean-style Gochujang Chick’n Bites.

The fast-food chain announced its new offerings on Tuesday. The new chicken contenders will be glazed with Gochujang, a fermented red chili paste used in various Korean cuisines. The sandwich will feature the glazed chicken breast on toasted sesame seeds and white kimchi coleslaw. These sandwiches will go for $7.19. The bites are made of all-white meat chicken and will come with a Gochujang mayo dipping sauce. Customers can order them in pieces of six for $5.19 or ten for $7.19. To complete their meals, customers can add an order of crinkle-cut fries and the signature mayo sauce.

Shake Shack is competing with the likes of Popeyes, who sent chicken lovers into a frenzy in late 2019 when they introduced their wildly popular chicken sandwich, and McDonald’s, who recently announced a new line of chicken sandwiches.

“We have come to love the diverse flavor profile Korean fried chicken offers,” said Shake Shack’s culinary director, Mark Rosati.

Shake Shack says that it’s new Korean themed chicken will be available now through April 5th.
