Shannon Sharpe Doesn’t Blame Ja Morant For His Gun-Related Incident But The People Enabling Him: “Are Y’all Gonna Be The Treasurer Of That GoFundMe Account?” [Video]

Shannon Sharpe is unfazed by Ja Morant displaying a gun on an Instagram Live video but blames the people around him for enabling his antics.

Following Morant’s initial gun-related incident in March, Sharpe claimed that it would require tangible actions to bring about a shift in the perception of the point guard for the Grizzlies.

On Monday’s episode of “Undisputed,” Sharpe directed his focus toward the fans and individuals surrounding Morant.

“I’m mad, I’m upset, I’m disgusted by the people that defended (Morant),” Sharpe said. “Because that’s what got us here.”

Sharpe later detailed how his critics took aim at him following his comments on Morant’s first gun-flashing incident.

“All of the people that said let Ja be Ja, are y’all gonna be the treasurer of that GoFundMe account, because he just lost $39 million because he wasn’t on one of the three All-NBA teams,” Sharpe said. “He’s about to lose another $20-$30 million of these endorsements.”

He added, “What about to the NBA? What about the Nike? What about the Powerade? I want to know who is going to be the treasurer of that GoFundMe because he is about to lose that NBA contract. He is about to lose that Powerade endorsement.”

Nevertheless, Morant was suspended from team activities as the NBA is still investigating.
