Flights are taking off, but so is Simone Biles’ latest move into the food game.
Biles restaurant, Taste of Gold, is officially open inside George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and it’s giving hometown pride with a luxury twist. The 29-year-old Olympian opened the doors on March 24, placing her first restaurant right in Terminal A near Gate A8.
The space reflects her legacy in real time, because the décor pulls straight from her career highlights. There are TVs playing sports across the bar, while custom 3D artwork by Texas designer Jody Dodson features gold accents inspired by Biles’ leotards. So whether you’re locked into a game or just passing through, the vibe stays connected to her story.
“As a frequent traveler, I am thrilled to partner with Athlete Playermaker Group to help create a place for people to relax and share meals during their travels through my hometown airport,” Biles said. “Whether you’re a fan of gymnastics, football or any sport, or just hungry for something yummy before or after your flight, I’d like to welcome you to Taste of Gold the way fans have welcomed me into their hearts over my career.”
The menu keeps it simple but elevated, because travelers can grab sandwiches, salads, and shareables without missing a beat. Her personal pick, Simone’s Skewers, includes chicken, steak, shrimp, and veggie options. Also, desserts are on deck for anyone trying to end their trip on a sweet note, such as the Root Beer Float and the Skillet Sundae.
Biles celebrated the opening on Instagram alongside her husband Jonathan Owens, making it clear this wasn’t just business, it was personal.
