Back in 2011 singer Jazmine Sullivan (Bust Your Windows, Lions, Tigers, Bears etc) took a break from music. The real cause of that three year hiatus, a lot of us had no idea about. Recently she opened up about finally leaving her mentally and physically abusive relationship.
“Everything kinda just became too much at the time. I was dealing with that relationship and it was really coming to a close, but I was having trouble with ending it and having to go and perform and smile for everybody, it all became too much,” Sullivan told Hip Hollywood. Jazmine also revealed that she almost turned to drug use to get over her break-up. “I just remember they feeling of feeling helpless and just feeling bad and wanting to be ‘lifted’ out of that space.”
