Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is facing 2026 with a major health battle, revealing on Feb. 20 that she has been diagnosed with Stage 1 cervical cancer. The 38-year-old “Jersey Shore” icon broke the news to fans in a TikTok video following a cone biopsy that confirmed she has adenocarcinoma.

While the diagnosis is heavy, she is leaning into the relief that her doctors caught the disease in its earliest phase. “It came back Stage 1 cervical cancer called adenocarcinoma,” she said. “And obviously not the news I’ve been hoping for, but also not the worst news just because they caught it so early. Thank freaking God!”

The mother of three isn’t sugarcoating how she got here, admitting she spent years dealing with red flags before finally facing them head-on. She’s now using her personal scare as a wake-up call for other women to stop putting off their gynecologist appointments. “I’m 38 years old and I’ve been struggling with abnormal Pap smears for three or four years now, and now look at me,” she continued. “Instead of putting it off because I didn’t want to go, because I was hurt and scared, I just went and did it. And it was there, cancer is in there but it’s Stage 1 and it’s curable.”

During her cone biopsy, a procedure where doctors remove a small piece of tissue to test for disease, surgeons were able to take out the main tumor. Polizzi shared that the surrounding tissue was clean, which is a massive relief for her medical team. “So there were no cancer cells on that, which means it didn’t go up into the cervix, which is a good thing,” she continued, noting that there is still a chance the cancer could spread in her body. To be safe, her next steps involve a PET scan and she has decided to undergo a hysterectomy.

For Polizzi, choosing surgery was the best path forward compared to the alternatives of radiation or chemotherapy. Though the start of the year has been a total rollercoaster, she’s focused on doing whatever it takes to be healthy for her kids. “Obviously, I think the smart choice here is the hysterectomy. I’ll still keep my ovaries, which is a good sign,” she said. “But yeah, gotta get the cervix and uterus out… It all depends on the PET scan.” She also kept it real about her current headspace, noting that 2026 is not panning out how she’d like it to, adding, “But also, it could be worse.”

Her diagnosis comes as the American Cancer Society reports a growing trend of cervical cancer in women in their 30s and 40s. Snooki first sparked concern in late January when she told fans that a colposcopy had turned up abnormal cells.

Now, she’s determined to push through the treatment and help other women realize they aren’t alone. “So even though it’s not the news that I wanted to get, I still have to do further things to get rid of this,” she said. “I just feel like it’s very common in women.”

Prayers for the best outcome imaginable. If the hysterectomy is the only option to prevent further complications, then I hope you have an easy recovery. ❤️‍🩹 🥰
