Socialite Rebecca Grossman Arrested For DUI Crash That Killed Two Brothers

A socialite is out on bail Thursday after being arrested in connection with a DUI crash that killed two young Westlake Village brothers. The accident happened in front of their parents.

Police arrested Rebecca Grossman, 57, the co-founder of the Grossman Burn Foundation, after the Tuesday night crash. She posted the $2 million bail just after midnight on October 1, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s department said.

The two brothers, 11-year-old Mark Iskander and 9-year-old Jacob Iskander were walking with their family at a crosswalk around 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday when Grossman struck the boys in her white Mercedes, according to CBS Los Angeles.

One of the boys succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident, and one was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead hours later, according to a Facebook post by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

Grossman was under the influence at the time of the accident and did not stop after the crash. Her car was towed with front-end damage from about a quarter-mile away from where the accident took place.

She has been charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter, according to the New York Post. Her first court appearance is scheduled for October 21.

Grossman is a co-founder and chair of the Grossman Burn Foundation and is married to the foundation’s president, Dr. Peter Grossman. Dr. Grossman is the director of the Grossman Burn Center in West Hills, California, and the son of its founder.
